Tree Care Lansing Tree Service

Trees can turn into safety hazards, with loosely attached branches falling now and then. This problem, however, does have a simple solution – invest in tree pruning. Tree pruners will remove branches that look like they might fall, creating safety around your home.
Most diseases attack trees branch by branch, before moving on to the main trunk. If you catch a disease before it moves to the tree trunk, tree pruning can help you remove all the diseased branches. While you may still need medications, pruning a tree increases the rate of recovery.
For decades now, we have been pruning trees in Lansing city. Using this tree maintenance procedure, we have managed to boost the appearance of thousands of trees – this has always resulted in improved property value. One thing that keeps our customers coming back is the fact that we charge an affordable tree pruning fee to offer exceptional services.
Reasons to Work with Professionals Tree Pruners
If you have had trees on your property for years, chances are, the idea of DIY pruning has crossed your mind at some point. You have probably wondered “why do I need to hire professionals while I can just saw off random branches and call it a day?” The thing is, pruning a tree is more complicated than cutting a limb here and a branch there. Working with professionals offers the following benefits:
1. Zero Chances of Tree Damage
Removing the wrong branches when pruning a tree damages the tree shape, and in some cases, it could cause too much damage such that tree removal may be the only solution.
It takes years of experience and tree biology knowledge to know which branches to remove. The good news is that professionals have both and they can prune any tree without causing damage.
2. You Avoid Damaging Your Home
Your commercial or residential property is probably one of your most valued assets. Attempting DIY tree service on the trees surrounding your home increases the risk of property damage. When pruning a tree, branches could land on your garage, your main house, or even your car. This will result in a lot of money spent on repair costs.
Luckily for you, professional tree pruners will have the branches they intend to cut tied off with ropes to keep them from falling in the wrong direction. Using modern machines such as a bucket truck, the professionals will lower the branches down slowly, protecting your home from damages.
3. You Avoid Spending Time in the Hospital
Going up a tree looks easy enough – just get a good ladder and you can reach the tree crown with minimal hassles. However, balancing between cutting the right branches and staying on the tree can be hard, especially without the right safety gear. This means that the risk of falling off the tree is incredibly high.
Professionals keep you away from the tree. This helps you avoid injuries that could put you in hospital for months, with thousands to spend on the bills.
4. You Save Time
Tree pruning is a time-consuming service and without experience and the right tools, you may end up spending a whole day (or two) on the same tree. Inviting professional tree pruners to your home, however, allows you to work on other projects.
DIY Tree Pruning
We are not entirely against property owners handling tree pruning. What we are against is attempting the procedure on risky trees – that is, trees that could lead to injuries or property damage. If your tree is not risky, you can use the following tips to prune it:
- Remove branches with a diameter of less than 5cm. Those with diameters of 10+ cm should only be removed if they feature safety concerns or are harboring pests and diseases.
- Use the right tools – when pruning a tree whose branches have a diameter of more than 3 inches, use coarse-toothed saws. If the branches have a diameter of fewer than 2 inches, the fine-toothed saw should work.
- Remove the branches forming V-shaped angles with your trunk. We would recommend leaving branches forming a strong U-shaped angle on the tree.
- Since younger branches feature a lower chance of scarring, remove them instead of removing the older branches.
